Avid Media Composer is both brilliant and ridiculous at the same time. One example of the ridiculousness is when you try to get your track colors back to default through the timeline settings button:

To get the correct default, go to your Settings > Interface menu and select these three options:

default-tracks

  • Default Timeline V Tracks
  • Default Timeline A Tracks
  • Default Timeline TC Tracks

That’s it. I hope this helps someone as it was quite frustrating for me to figure out.
